CCPL now offering mobile Wi-Fi hotspots for checkout

The Charleston County Public Library (CCPL) now has mobile hotspots available for checkout. These hotspots allow Library card holders to connect their smartphone, tablet or laptop to get internet access. In order to check out a hotspot you must have a CCPL Library Card. Adult patrons must sign an Internet Acceptable Use Agreement form at a CCPL branch if they haven’t done so already. Patrons younger than 18 must have a parent or legal guardian sign the Internet Acceptable Use Agreement form before reserving and checking out hotspots.

Downtown Palmer Campus Library Celebrates Black History Month

During the month of February, stop by Palmer Campus Library to view the library’s displays for Black History Month. Patrons can explore the resources we have showcased on the national theme Black Migrations. We also have a display showcasing resources about Hampstead Square to get visitors prepared for the presentation Hampstead Square: The past, the present and the future that Dr. Susan Williams will be presenting on Feb. 20^th in the Palmer Campus Amphitheater.

Get Ready for National Library Week Next Week!

Coming up next week! National Library Week (April 9 - 15, 2017) is a time to celebrate the contributions of our nation's libraries and library workers and to promote library use and support. From free access to books and online resources for families to library business centers that help support entrepreneurship and retraining, libraries offer opportunity to all. The theme for 2017 National Library Week is "Libraries Transform." Olympic soccer gold medalist and World Cup champion Julie Foudy will serve as this year's National Library Week Honorary Chair.

First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the country each April. All types of libraries - school, public, academic and special - participate every year in National Library Week. Come see how our TTC downtown library celebateson Tuesday, April 11, from 10:00-1:00!  

Check Out the New Bones and Body Parts in the TTC Downtown Library

We are pleased to announce a new collaborative effort between the Biological Sciences and the Library at the downtown Palmer Campus. Palmer’s BIO210 students now have access to eleven of the anatomical models used in the 210 lab, as Reserve Materials in the library. TTC students can check out a model (with answer key) using their TTC ID and take advantage of the comfortable study space in the library. This is beneficial for students, as they can now study for lab assessments outside of their scheduled lab class.

The downtown Palmer Library (Room 229) is open Mon.-Thurs. 7:30 am-8 pm and Fri. 7:30 am-4 pm.

If you do not have a Student ID yet, please stop by Room 121 (Mon.-Thurs. 8 am-6 pm, Fri. 8 am-5 pm).  Models currently available include:  cell, skin, disarticulated skeleton, skull, knee, muscle fiber, arm muscles, leg muscles, neuron, brain, and spinal cord.
