Dr. Susan Millar Williams to Appear in Documentary about South Carolina Pulitzer Prize Winners
Dr. Susan Millar Williams, a Palmer faculty member, is
heading to Columbia this week to film an episode in the forthcoming
documentary, “From
the Jazz Age to the Digital Age: Pulitzer Prize Winners in South Carolina.”
There will be three, 30-minute programs. The first will feature South
Carolina’s living Pulitzer Prize commenters and columnists. The second
30-minute program will feature four of South Carolina’s living Pulitzer Prize
winning reporters. The third program will examine the significance and lasting
impact of the late Julia Peterkin, South Carolina’s only recipient of the
Pulitzer Prize in literature. Williams is the author of the biography A Devil and a Good Woman, Too: The Lives of Julia Peterkin.

Lou Ippolito hosts speaker Joe Engel
Come hear Holocaust survivor Joe Engel speak about his life and lessons he learned. In 1939,
when the Germans invaded Poland, Joe Engel experienced the misery of a ghetto,
concentration camps, and the death march of Auschwitz before he finally escaped
from a cattle train in 1945. The only surviving members of his immediate family
were two brothers and a sister.

New Program Allows Students Wanting a Bachelor's Degree to Skype with Four-Year College Advisors

On March 14th 2016, TTC launched their newest initiative to help transfer students get in touch with college admission representatives from across the state. Now transfer students can meet online via Skype with the following colleges: The College of Charleston, The Citadel, Clemson, USC-Columbia, and Palmetto College-USC online. Palmer students can learn more about how to sign up for these sessions by visiting The Transfer Information Resource Center in Palmer Room 102.

Come join us to celebrate
Women’s History Month. We will have food, drink, and fun watching selections
from the film Girl Rising and discussing the question
that is, unfortunately, still too often asked: do girls around the world
deserve to be educated?
We know that educating
girls is the smartest investment of our time. When girls are educated, communities thrive and economies grow. Yet 62
million girls are missing from classrooms worldwide, and tremendous
opportunities are lost. Girl Rising explores solutions to the
problem.
